Changing Role of Law Enforcement 
Cultural Diversity
This core law enforcement program is designed to explore the evolving role of law enforcement in a rapidly changing, increasingly diverse society. Participants are introduced to new models, including Soldier to Educator, through which to view issues of diversity and to hone ethical decision-making skills.  Since 1996, over 60,000 members of law enforcement have participated in this program from the recruit to command level.
 
Tools for Tolerance® is an educational program with the following objectives: 
  • To utilize the impactful, inter-active learning experience of the Museum of Tolerance in  order to expose the dynamics of racism and bigotry, prejudice and discrimination in both an historic and contemporary context.
  • To engage participants in a facilitated discussion around issues of tolerance, diversity, personal values and responsibility, and their relevance to the work of a peace officer.
  • To increase participants awareness of the evolving role of law enforcement and the tools necessary for an effective response.
Curriculum includes:
  1. Examine issue of stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination in a historical and contemporary context using the Museum of Tolerances interactive exhibits.
